Pet Surgery

For many pets, surgery is an inevitable part of being healthy. It might be a preventive routine surgery, such as a spay/neuter procedure, or a treatment surgery, such as a tumor removal. The veterinary team at Affordable Pet Care Northwest has decades of combined experience with soft tissue and orthopedic pet surgeries. Just as with every other service we offer, we make the safety and comfort of our patients a #1 priority with every surgery we perform. We also use advanced equipment to monitor each pet’s vital signs before, during, and after surgery.

Regardless of what type of surgery your pet needs, we want you to have peace of mind about it. That’s why we take the time to discuss the surgery beforehand so you can have a clear understanding of how it will benefit your pet. We encourage you to let us know about your questions or concerns during this time. We’re also available to answer your questions after your pet’s surgery, during recovery.

Soft Tissue & Elective Surgery

We can perform a wide range of soft tissue (don’t include bone) and elective pet surgeries, including:

  • Spaying (ovariohysterectomy)
  • Neutering (castration)
  • Tumor removals
  • Abdominal surgery
  • Thoracic surgery
  • Hernia repair
  • Ear surgeries
  • Eye surgeries
  • Oral surgeries
  • Feline declaw

We use a laser for many of these procedures—instead of a traditional scalpel—which results in less bleeding, less tissue damage, and less time to heal.

Orthopedic Surgery

Orthopedic pet surgery is a procedure that involves the bone. The most common ones we perform include:

  • Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) repair
  • Luxating patella (kneecap) repair
  • Fracture repair
  • Amputations
  • Casting
  • Splinting

After Your Pet’s Surgery

When your pet’s surgery is complete, we will continue to monitor them, even after the anesthesia has been discontinued. We are pleased to offer Class IV MLS Laser therapy unit for pain management and to decrease inflammation. We also offer traditional pain medications for at-home use so your pet can recover as comfortably and quickly as possible.
