Daniel Earl, DVM
Dr. Danny Earl is a native of San Antonio. He completed his undergraduate studies at Southwest Texas State University and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University in 1989. After veterinary school Dr. Earl practiced in Sealy and New Braunfels before finally returning to San Antonio. Dr. Earl’s professional interests include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery as well as internal medicine. Dr. Earl acquired ownership of Affordable Pet Care Northwest in January of 2001. Affordable Pet Care Northwest has been consistently rated as one of the top veterinary clinics in San Antonio by several publications.
Dr. Earl and his wife Leigh have five beautiful children. When not at work Dr. Earl enjoys spending time with his family. His hobbies include: hunting, fishing, fly fishing, gardening, snow skiing and anything “Aggie” related.
Regina Krampe, DVM
Dr. Regina Krampe joined Affordable Pet Care NW in July 2007. She received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Texas A&M University in 1997 and graduated from Texas A&M University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. Dr. Krampe is a native of Nacogdoches, TX and was working in Texarkana, TX before moving to San Antonio after marrying her husband Richard. She is the proud mother of two young boys. Her family also has two cats and a newly adopted dog. She is a member of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Krampe enjoys both clinical medicine and surgery. She also takes the time to client’s concerns and go the extra mile to help their pets feel better.
Jim Jensen, DVM
Diplomate America College of Zoological Medicine
Dr. Jim Jensen joined Affordable Pet Care NW in September of 2006. He graduated from the University of Missouri in 1974. His career in zoological medicines spans 30 years and includes positions at the Baltimore, Knoxville, and Oklahoma City zoos as well as teaching positions at the veterinary schools of the University of Tennessee and Texas A&M University. Dr. Jensen has been married to his wonderful wife Cindy for 38 years and they have three children and two grandchildren. Dr. Jensen and his wife also have a standard poodle named Jesse that they adopted from a rescue in Houston. His favorite animal is the camel and he has written numerous publications about them that are very valuable to the profession.
Charlene Carrera, DVM
Dr. Carrera grew up in the Rio Grande Valley. At ar early age she realized that working with and caring for animals would be her chosen career. Her passion and
determination never wavered. After graduating from Liberty University in Virginia in 2003 and working in public relations in Dublin, Ireland, she applied to Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine and was accepted into the Class of 2017. She now is a proud KSU Wildcat, graduating in May of 2017 with her doctorate of veterinary medicine. She shares her home with her two Shiba Inu, Kuma and Hana. She enjoys world travel, reading, cooking and spending quality time with her family and friends.
Dr. Melissa Cavaretta was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh in biological sciences. Dr. Cavaretta went to the University of Illinois for her veterinary degree. After graduation, she moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico where she practiced for two years in a small animal and exotic practice. Dr. Cavaretta then moved to San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Cavaretta has an interest in exotic animal medicine as well as internal medicine for dogs and cats.
In her free time, Dr. Cavaretta likes to spend time with her husband and son. They also enjoy taking their two big dogs for walks. Dr. Cavaretta also likes to read.
